Round one is in the books and Big Don wasted no time in getting into it. He has never been a particularly shy person and with his new physique he doesn't mind having his shirt off. So when they had to access his port for a couple of hours Tuesday to give him the chemo he had no problem spending the time in the middle of the room with his chest hair in full glory. I would have paid money to see Kay Dulle's face, of course she went straight to the store and picked him up a new button down shirt. I am afraid if he goes shirtless again she might kill him first.
Regardless of the attire Big Don did well with Round one, he reports back with some fatigue but he has been eating and had some pasta the last couple nights, I'm told the only thing missing was some hard boiled eggs. He is still doing things for work each morning on the computer and I think they are getting used to the 'retired' life. I know he is looking forward to Labor Day weekend when everyone will be in town and we will be sure to do some non-cancer related activities. We are working on getting his corvette down to Phoenix hopefully he will wear his shirt when he drives that. I know one thing for sure I'm going to work tomorrow with no shirt on, no doubt whose team I am on.
Uncle Don - If you are looking for a responsible Schneller girl with good driving skills and a love for the speed limit to drive your corvette to Phoenix...
ReplyDeleteOk I don't know any, but I might be a good second choice. I asked Matt if corvettes had room for car seats, and like an awesome new dad he said "Not with my golf clubs."
We love you and are thinking of you everyday!
Donnie,
