An In 'N Out burger is a special treat, now granted as most of us know the name of the restaurant has less to do with how fast you get your food and more to do with how quickly you need a bathroom after the meal. Well Big Don apparently took In 'N Out a bit too literally and things came right back out where they went in, quick. Suffice it to say that mom's In 'N Out experience is now ruined for life. But this has really been only a small blip on the screen for Big Don. He has been through two rounds of chemo and is doing well. As we expect he has some fatigue and occassional nausea but generally he is tolerating things well. He does have some lowered white cells which are responsible for fighting infection, but we expect this and he is getting injections to help supplement. We will also be providing him with a mask to wear to protect himself, not so much from infection but from the embarassment of being a Cards fan right now.
Contrary to what some have read the Mayo clinic is not yet using Marijuana to help treat this cancer and Big Don and Kay have not been lighting up in the backyard at least not to my knowledge and if they have well good for them. I guess the same can not be said for some of their brothers and sisters, (you know who you are). But as a person of medical knowledge in the family I will take it upon myself to do some extensive hands on research this weekend when we visit. At any rate Big Don is looking forward to a nice weekend as the whole Dulle clan and some friends will be visiting. As I said before we will be sure to get in some non cancer related activity and we will take some pictures to post so that everyone can get a look at Medium Don.
So if you are in Phoenix and looking for my folks you can skip In 'N Out, they are taking a break from there, thank God it wasn't White Castle.
you may be getting food in and it may be coming right out, but some nurishment will stick. keep trying. i wish i was there with all my montana cousins to give out a bunch of hugs and kisses. wear the mask, definitely wear the mask. not overly attractive but it helps. cousin sean wore his everywhere (even to the pool). i love you and send a prayer and a smooch all the way from missouri. love your favorite missouri cousin!!
