If you are reading this you probably already know that the Dulle's have bad guts, well Big Don has taken it to a whole nother level.
Here is our attempt at blogging, this may be the first and possibly last one but we are going to try and keep everyone posted as Big Don starts his new journey. Long story short Big Don has been losing some weight and was having trouble eating normally so of course we knew something was up. He finally went to the ER last week, after he delivered fifty cases of Bud Light to the Great Northern Bar, and a CT scan revealed a kidney stone and a tumor on his pancreas. For his whole life Big Don thought "Tumor" meant "Two more" Buds. Well further tests revealed that it was cancer. Thankfully it has not spread, not so thankfully it is the cancer we didn't want; adenocarcinoma. Well that word is way to complicated so for the first time ever instead of saying "Two more" we are saying "No more". They were able to open up his stomach and he is eating now, well drinking ensure and boost and having pretzels but eating more each day, and so now we start the fight against this thing.
Through a very nice family friend we were able to get an appointment down in Phoenix at the Mayo Clinic next week. There we will have an appointment with an oncologist and another surgeon to make plans moving forward. Most likely he will be started on chemotherapy and radiation in some form. As we do in our family we compare everything to sports and right now we are getting our butts kicked. And for the first time we dislike an opponent more than the Cubs. But we have all been down before and we are ready to get back into this game. We are very confident in the team we will meet down in Phoenix and are anxious to start.
If you are wondering why I say 'we' its because one of the great things our family has learned thus far is that this is not Big Don or the Dulle's or people in Montana fighting this thing, there are people all over that have his back and believe me we need it and our very thankful. We feel confident that we are gonna beat this down and Big Don will be driving his Corvette and delivering more cases to the Great Northern soon. As he said in the hospital coming out of anesthesia "I guess a lot of people love my big ugly butt". Well he is right and when I asked him what he wanted me to say in the blog he just said tell everyone I love them too.
Very sorry to hear this. Hopefully all goes well and he has a full and speedy recovery. I will keep your family in my prayers.
